In his complaint, Venkataramana Reddy said that his prediction before the election was against the rule of Election Commission and he urged the Election Commission to take strict action against Andhra Octopus Lagadapati Rajagopal, who tried to mislead the voters.
It is known news that after quitting politics, Lagadapati Rajagopal turned into a psephologist with the setting-up of the RG-flash agency. In 2014, the state election results were testimony to Rajagopal and his agency’s accuracy. In the 2014 Telangana state elections, Lagadapati predicted 60 (plus or minus two) seats for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and party secured 63 seats. He also estimated that the TDP-BJP alliance in Telangana would secure 18 to 22 seats, and the alliance ended up getting 20 seats.
In the 2009 state elections in the united Andhra Pradesh, Lagadapati Rajagopal predicted 155 for the Congress and the results tallied with absolute accuracy.
In the 2010 by-elections and the 2011 Kadapa elections, he also predicted that YSR would win the constituency with around 4 lakh votes, which all tallied accurately, establishing his track record in the state. But this time, his predictions before few days of elections, were not accurate and till date he did not give any clarification regarding it. Now we have to wait and see how Election Commission responds on Venkataramana Reddy’s complaint against Lagadapati Rajagopal.
