I don't know how I missed this one, but apparently James Brown the hairdresser made a giiiiinormous mistake at the Baftas a few days ago. Hurling racial insults at a black journalist. Jaysus - has no one learned from Galliano that it's really really not okay to have those sort of outdated and disgusting views?
He used a few words (which I wont repeat) to describe Ben Douglas no less then eight times. However the journalist in question only wrote that he had been abused, but didn't name the person, as he didn't want to wreck his career. Which was way nicer then he should have been. Then James Brown stepped forward to state it had been him and that he was sorry for his mistake. Claiming he was drunk at the event :
"I'd like to make a public apology to Mr Douglas, to his friends and to Bafta for my offensive and stupid comments. The simple truth is that I had drunk far too much on the evening and my behaviour was totally unacceptable.
"Everyone who knows me knows I am not racist in any way whatsoever, but this incident has shown me that my drinking is way out of control and I need to take urgent measures to deal with it. I am very sorry and very embarrassed."
What do we reckon? Sorry or sorry it got into the papers?
